November 7, 2003 (New York and Los Gatos, Calif.)— Intacct Corporation, the leading provider of online professional accounting solutions, today reported that CEO David C. Thomas was named as one of Accounting Today magazine's 100 Most Influential People in Accounting. Selected by the publication's editorial staff, the annual 100 Most Influential feature highlights key individuals whose professional efforts have most influenced the accounting profession within the last year through such diverse means as technology, education, certification, guidelines, and standards.
"The software-as-a-service model continues to have an effect on the current practice of accounting, and is the foundation of the e-practice as the future of accounting, " said David C. Thomas in reference to his appointment to the 2003 list of 100 Most Influential People in Accounting. "The emergence of the e-practice will be a significant trend of the accounting profession in this decade."
The 2003 Most Influential People feature, now 10 years old, lists "those whose actions we felt were truly influential in the profession, at a time when influence seemed to come from myriad directions," said Bill Carlino, Editor-in-chief of Accounting Today. "In a climate of quantum change—such as the current state of the accounting industry—the true leaders usually emerge and help navigate both themselves and others back on course."
