October 9, 2002 (Los Gatos, Calif.)— Intacct Corporation, the leading provider of online professional accounting solutions, today announced the release of its new, customizable E-Practice, Multi-Entity and Accounting Consoles. As the hub of the Intacct accounting system, the Intacct Console enables certified public accountants or a company's accounting department, through a single interface, to manage their online accounting practice or operation. Features of the new Intacct Consoles give accounting professionals the power to adapt the terminology within the Intacct system to their customers' various business types, while also providing more convenient access to their clients' or divisions' data from one central command center.

The Intacct E-Practice Console is designed for public accounting firms. The Multi-Entity Console is designed for companies that want to control the operations of multiple subsidiaries, stores, divisions, franchises or other entities. The Accounting Console is the hub of the Intacct system for accounting departments within small to midsize businesses.

Today's release brings a number of new features for faster and easier navigation of the Intacct accounting system applications and client data to the Intacct E-Practice, Multi-Entity and Accounting Consoles. From a single Web page and by logging into the Intacct system only once, all client accounts can be conveniently and securely accessed. Also, the most recently accessed accounts are listed as a link on the Console so that they can quickly be accessed again without searching for a client name or account number.

Personalized Accounting Services
To personalize Intacct accounting applications for a specific business type, the Intacct Terminology Renaming feature makes it possible for various business objects within the accounting system to be customized to the client's business. For example, if the business is a franchise, the business object "customer" could be renamed to "franchisee." The Terminology Renaming feature also enhances Intacct templates, as the customized terminology chosen can be easily incorporated into a template for specific vertical markets. Along with system terminology Intacct templates can include charts of account, reports, user permissions, best practices, etc. Because the Intacct system is web-based, a template only has to be created once and can then be re-used for all clients within an industry, significantly decreasing the amount of time it takes to set up client accounts.

Other Intacct Console features include, shortcuts to Intacct accounting applications and reports, online training and system and application overview resources, a company message board, new features information, contextual Help and Live Help, as well as the "Find" feature for fast search capabilities for a number of queries within each applications, such as Bank Accounts, Employees, and Reporting Periods. And through the E-Practice Console, accountants have exclusive access to the Intacct online Assurance application for audit, review, and compilation engagements and the Tax Export feature, which enables them to export clients' financial data directly into the leading business tax programs.
